The Legend of Cenote Zací
The Legend of Cenote Zací is the tragic love story of Sac-Nicté and Hul-Kin, two young Maya from rival families in the city of Zací — today Valladolid, Yucatán. It is one of the traditional Mexican legends used in the reading-comprehension part of the naturalization exam. Read the story first, then study its characters and places.
