Las Mañanitas
“Las Mañanitas” is Mexico’s traditional birthday song, sung instead of “Happy Birthday”. It is often performed as a dawn serenade or before the birthday person blows out the candles, and mariachis are often hired to sing it.
It is also sung every year to the Virgin of Guadalupe in the early hours of December 12, at the Basilica in Mexico City.
