Tenochtitlan was the great capital of the Aztec empire, built in the Valley of Mexico, where Mexico City stands today. It is the city where the legend takes place: the home of the emperor, the princess Iztaccíhuatl, and the warrior Popocatépetl.
From the Valley of Mexico you can see the two volcanoes of the legend, Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, standing side by side to the southeast of the city.
