Manila galleon (Nao de China)

The Manila galleon, also called the Nao de China, was the trade route that linked Asia with New Spain from 1565 to 1815. Its ships crossed the Pacific Ocean between Manila, in the Philippines, and Acapulco, its New Spain terminus.

Silks, porcelain and spices from Asia arrived at Acapulco and were paid for with Mexican silver; part of those goods continued overland to Veracruz and from there to Spain.
