Colloquial words and expressions
Mexican Spanish has many words and sayings of its own. “Chaparro” describes a person of short stature, often affectionately. The expression “¡A darle, que es mole de olla!” is an invitation to do something enthusiastically and without delay: mole de olla is a stew eaten hot, so there is no time to wait.
These expressions appear on the exam because they are part of daily life: understanding them is part of knowing the country.
