Guillermo González Camarena

Guillermo González Camarena (1917–1965), an engineer born in Guadalajara, invented one of the first color television systems. He patented his field-sequential trichromatic system in 1940, at the age of 23.

He did not invent television, which already existed in black and white: his contribution was the color picture. He is one of Mexico’s most celebrated inventors.
