Los Azufres

Los Azufres is a geothermal, forested area in eastern Michoacán. Among pine forests, underground heat feeds hot springs, fumaroles and spas.

It also supplies one of the country’s main geothermal power plants, run by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). Don’t confuse it with Cerro Prieto in Baja California, Mexico’s largest geothermal field.
