Torre Latinoamericana
The Torre Latinoamericana in downtown Mexico City opened in 1956 and was the country’s first great skyscraper and its tallest building in the mid-20th century. Its pioneering foundations, designed for the city’s soft soil, let it come through the earthquakes of 1957, 1985 and 2017 intact.
Along with the Monumento a la Revolución and El Caballito on Reforma, it is cited as a symbol of Mexico’s modernization.
