Chapultepec Castle

Chapultepec Castle stands on top of Chapulín Hill, inside Chapultepec Park in Mexico City. Built in the viceregal era, it served as the Military College and as the residence of Emperor Maximilian and several presidents, and today it houses the National Museum of History.

In 1847 it was where the Niños Héroes defended against the US Army. It is considered the only castle in the Americas that housed sovereigns.
