Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (México)

According to tradition, the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to the Indigenous convert Juan Diego on Tepeyac hill in 1531, leaving her image imprinted on his cloak. December 12 marks the final apparition, and each year millions of pilgrims travel to her Basilica in Mexico City, making it one of the world’s most visited religious sites.

She is Mexico’s patron saint and a central symbol of national identity. Don’t confuse her feast on December 12 with December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
