Baile folclórico de México

The Dance of the Old Men (Danza de los Viejitos) is a traditional dance from the Purépecha region of Michoacán, in western Mexico. Dancers wear smiling old-man masks, straw hats, and traditional white clothing, and carry canes.

The humor of the dance comes from the contrast between the dancers’ stooped, trembling movements and their sudden bursts of fast, skillful footwork (zapateado). It is a fixture of festivals in towns such as Pátzcuaro.
