When was the national anthem officially declared?

Mexico’s national anthem has lyrics by the poet Francisco González Bocanegra and music by the Spanish-born composer Jaime Nunó, both chosen through public contests. It was sung for the first time on September 15, 1854.

However, it only became official almost a century later, when President Manuel Ávila Camacho decreed it the official national anthem in 1943.
