Plan de Guadalupe

The Plan of Guadalupe was proclaimed by Venustiano Carranza at the Hacienda de Guadalupe, in Coahuila, after Huerta seized power in a coup in which President Madero was arrested and then murdered. The plan refused to recognize Huerta’s government and created the Constitutionalist Army, with Carranza as its First Chief.

Don’t mix it up with other revolutionary plans: the Plan of San Luis (1910) was Madero’s call to arms against Porfirio Díaz, and the Plan of Ayala (1911) was Emiliano Zapata’s demand for land reform.
