Día de la Revolución (México)

November 20 commemorates the start of the Mexican Revolution in 1910, when Francisco I. Madero’s Plan of San Luis called on Mexicans to rise up in arms against the long dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz. It is an official civic holiday, celebrated with parades across the country.

Do not confuse it with September 16, which marks the start of the War of Independence in 1810, a century earlier.
