Jerez de García Salinas

Jerez de García Salinas is a town in the state of Zacatecas known for its well-preserved 19th-century architecture, its gardens, and its charro (Mexican horseman) traditions. It is also the birthplace of the poet Ramón López Velarde, author of “La suave Patria”.

The Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns) program is run by Mexico’s federal tourism authorities to promote towns with special historical, cultural, or natural value. Zacatecas has several Magical Towns, but Jerez is the one this card tests.
