Templo de Kukulkán

El Castillo, the great pyramid of the Maya city of Chichén Itzá in Yucatán, is also called the Temple of Kukulkán, the feathered serpent god — the Maya counterpart of central Mexico’s Quetzalcóatl. During the spring and autumn equinoxes, light and shadow create the illusion of a serpent descending its staircase.

Chichén Itzá is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and in 2007 was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
