Pueblos indígenas de México

The Tarahumara, who call themselves Rarámuri (“those with light feet”), are an Indigenous people who live today in the Sierra Tarahumara of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico — the mountain region that includes the Copper Canyon. They are famous worldwide as long-distance runners, able to run for hours across the sierra, often in huarache sandals.

Most of Mexico’s other well-known Indigenous cultures, such as the Zapotec or the Maya, live in the center and south of the country, which is why this question stresses the north.
