Período Clásico mesoamericano

Historians divide pre-Hispanic Mesoamerica into three great periods: Preclassic, Classic and Postclassic. The Classic period, roughly 200 to 900 AD, saw the height of cities such as Teotihuacán, Monte Albán and great Maya centers like Palenque, with advances in writing, the calendar, astronomy and monumental architecture. It was followed by the Postclassic, the era of the Toltecs and later the Mexica, which ended with the Spanish conquest.
