Calmécac

The calmécac was the school where the sons of Mexica nobles (pipiltin) were educated; it was usually attached to a temple and run by priests. There, future rulers and priests studied religion, astronomy, the calendar, rhetoric, history and law. Don’t confuse it with the telpochcalli, the school for the children of commoners, which emphasized military training and practical trades.
