Galeón de Manila

The Manila galleon, also called the Nao de China, linked Acapulco with Manila, in the Philippines, from 1565 to 1815, bringing silk, porcelain, and spices from Asia in exchange for American silver. Acapulco was New Spain’s great Pacific port; don’t confuse it with Veracruz, the Atlantic port that connected the colony to Spain through the Fleet of the Indies.
