What musical instrument is associated with Veracruz?

The arpa jarocha, a wooden harp with 32 to 36 strings, is the signature instrument of son jarocho, the traditional music of Veracruz, and is played alongside the jarana and the requinto jarocho. The most famous son jarocho is “La Bamba”.

Do not confuse it with mariachi instruments such as the guitarrón and the vihuela, which belong to the musical tradition of Jalisco.
