Juan Gabriel

Juan Gabriel (1950–2016), born Alberto Aguilera Valadez in Parácuaro, Michoacán, and raised in Ciudad Juárez, was one of Mexico’s most beloved singer-songwriters, known as ‘El Divo de Juárez’. He wrote enduring hits such as ‘Amor eterno’ and ‘Querida’ and sold tens of millions of records across the Spanish-speaking world.

Don’t confuse his real name with those of other singers: José José, for example, was born José Rómulo Sosa Ortiz.
