Who created the Caballito on Paseo de la Reforma?

El Caballito is a bright yellow steel sculpture of a stylized horse’s head, about 28 meters tall, that stands at the intersection of Paseo de la Reforma and Avenida Juárez in Mexico City. It was created in 1992 by Enrique Carbajal, a sculptor from Chihuahua better known by his artistic name, Sebastián.

It takes its nickname from the original El Caballito, Manuel Tolsá’s colonial-era equestrian statue of King Charles IV, which once stood on that spot and is now displayed at Plaza Manuel Tolsá. Take care not to confuse the two sculptures.
