The bronze sculpture, by Juan Fernando Olaguíbel, was inaugurated in 1942 on Paseo de la Reforma under President Manuel Ávila Camacho. Everyone calls it Diana the Huntress, after the Roman goddess of the hunt, but its official name is the Archer of the Northern Stars.
