Estela de Luz

The Estela de Luz is a 104-meter quartz-clad pillar at the entrance to Chapultepec Park on Paseo de la Reforma. It was built for the 2010 bicentennial of Independence and centennial of the Revolution, though construction delays meant it was inaugurated in January 2012.

Don’t confuse it with the Angel of Independence, also on Reforma, which Porfirio Díaz inaugurated in 1910 for the first centennial of Independence.
