Literatura de México

Mexico has a rich poetic tradition. Octavio Paz won the 1990 Nobel Prize in Literature; Amado Nervo was a key figure of modernismo; and Rosario Castellanos and Jaime Sabines, both closely tied to Chiapas, are among the best-loved Mexican poets of the twentieth century.

Don’t confuse them with storytellers like Juan Rulfo or Carlos Fuentes, who are famous for novels and short stories rather than poetry.
