Aura (novela)

Aura (1962) is a short gothic novel by Carlos Fuentes, famous for being narrated in the second person, about a young historian drawn into a mysterious old house in Mexico City. Fuentes was one of Mexico’s greatest twentieth-century writers and a central figure of the Latin American Boom, also author of La muerte de Artemio Cruz.

He won the Cervantes Prize in 1987. Don’t confuse him with Octavio Paz, the Mexican writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1990.
