Plan de San Luis

The Plan of San Luis was issued by Francisco I. Madero in 1910, after he escaped from prison, and is dated in San Luis Potosí. It declared the reelection of Porfirio Díaz fraudulent and called on Mexicans to take up arms on November 20, 1910, the date considered the start of the Mexican Revolution.

November 20 is still commemorated every year as Revolution Day. Don’t confuse this plan with the Plan of Ayala, Emiliano Zapata’s later plan demanding land reform.
