Línea 1 del Metro de la Ciudad de México

Line 1 of the Mexico City Metro — the pink line — was inaugurated on September 4, 1969, by President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, and originally ran between Zaragoza and Chapultepec. The system has since grown into one of the largest metros in the Americas, carrying millions of passengers a day.

Don’t mix the date up with 1968, the year Mexico City hosted the Olympic Games; the metro opened the following year.
