In which war did the Escuadrón 201 fight?

The Escuadrón Aéreo de Pelea 201, known as the Aztec Eagles, was the Mexican fighter squadron that fought in World War II as part of the Mexican Expeditionary Air Force, flying combat missions in the Philippines in 1945. It remains the only Mexican military unit to have fought overseas.

Mexico entered the war in 1942 after German submarines sank the Mexican oil tankers Potrero del Llano and Faja de Oro.
