Constitución Política de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos

Mexico’s current Constitution was promulgated in the city of Querétaro on February 5, 1917, as a product of the Mexican Revolution, under Venustiano Carranza. It was advanced for its time, enshrining free secular education (Article 3), national ownership of land and resources (Article 27), and labor rights (Article 123).

The date was chosen deliberately: the previous liberal Constitution of 1857 had also been promulgated on February 5. Constitution Day is commemorated each year in February.
