Who was the second emperor of Mexico?

Maximilian of Habsburg, an Austrian archduke, was installed as emperor of Mexico by Napoleon III of France during the Second French Intervention, heading the Second Mexican Empire from 1864 to 1867. When French troops withdrew, the republican forces of President Benito Juárez defeated and captured him, and he was executed at the Cerro de las Campanas in Querétaro on June 19, 1867.

Don’t confuse the two empires: the first emperor of Mexico was Agustín de Iturbide, who headed the First Mexican Empire (1822–1823) right after independence.
