What is the structure of the Mexican Judicial Branch?

The Judicial Branch is one of the three branches of Mexico’s federal government, alongside the Executive and Legislative branches. Its structure is set out in Article 94 of the Constitution, with the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) as the highest court.

A sweeping judicial reform approved in 2024 introduced the popular election of judges and replaced the Federal Judiciary Council with new administrative and disciplinary bodies, so older study materials may describe the previous structure.
