Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación

The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) is Mexico’s highest court and the final interpreter of the Constitution. Since the judicial reform of 2024 it has been made up of nine justices, called ministras and ministros.

Be careful with older study materials: before the reform the Court had eleven justices. The reform also introduced the popular election of justices, first held in June 2025.
