Sufragio en México

Under Article 34 of the Constitution, Mexican men and women become citizens at age 18, provided they have an honest way of living. Citizenship brings political rights, above all the right to vote and to run for office.

Note the distinction the Constitution draws: nationality is acquired at birth or by naturalization, while citizenship begins at 18. To actually cast a ballot, citizens register with the INE and obtain their voting credential.
