Peña de Bernal
The Peña de Bernal is a giant rock monolith about 350 meters tall that rises over the town of San Sebastián Bernal, in the state of Querétaro. It is popularly ranked as the third largest monolith in the world, after the Rock of Gibraltar and Rio de Janeiro’s Sugarloaf.
The town of Bernal is one of Mexico’s Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns), and the rock is a favorite destination for hikers and climbers, especially during the spring equinox.
