Pachuca de Soto

Pachuca, the capital of the state of Hidalgo, is nicknamed ‘La Bella Airosa’ — roughly ‘the beautiful windy city’ — because of the strong winds that sweep down from the surrounding hills. A historic silver and gold mining city, it is also famous for its monumental clock and for pastes, the savory pastries introduced by Cornish miners in the 19th century.
