Los Azufres
Los Azufres is a geothermal field high in the pine forests of eastern Michoacán, where underground heat feeds hot springs, fumaroles, and spa resorts. It also powers one of the country’s main geothermal electricity plants, operated by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE). Don’t confuse it with Cerro Prieto, in Baja California, Mexico’s largest geothermal field.
