Acapulco de Juárez

Acapulco, on the Pacific coast of the state of Guerrero, was colonial Mexico’s great Pacific port: for two and a half centuries the Manila Galleon (the “Nao de China”) sailed between Acapulco and the Philippines. In the 20th century it became a world-famous beach resort.

Don’t confuse Acapulco with the state capital: the capital of Guerrero is Chilpancingo.
