Chalupa

Chalupas poblanas are a classic street snack of Puebla: small, thin tortillas fried in lard, bathed in green or red salsa, and topped with chopped onion and shredded meat. Their name comes from the chalupa, a small boat, evoking the tortilla’s shape. They differ from sopes and huaraches, which are built on a thicker base of corn dough.
