Saúl Álvarez, born near Guadalajara, Jalisco, in 1990, is one of the biggest stars in modern boxing. His nickname “Canelo” (cinnamon) comes from his reddish hair.

He has won world titles in several weight divisions and became the undisputed super middleweight champion, making him one of the most successful Mexican boxers of his generation.
