Anexo:Elección de la sede de la Copa Mundial de Fútbol
Mexico was the first country to host the FIFA World Cup twice, in 1970 and 1986 — both finals were played at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. In 2026 it became the first country to host three times, sharing the tournament with the United States and Canada.
Older study guides say “1970 and 1986” because they were written before 2026; be ready for either version of this question.
