Ana Gabriela Guevara

A native of Sonora, Ana Gabriela Guevara is considered Mexico’s greatest sprinter: she won the 400-meter title at the 2003 World Championships in Paris and Olympic silver in Athens 2004. In 2003 she also set a world best in the rarely run 300 meters. After retiring she went into politics and headed CONADE, Mexico’s national sports commission.
