What is the motto of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM)?

The Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), founded in 1974, is one of Mexico’s major public universities, with several campuses in the Mexico City metropolitan area. Its motto, ‘Casa abierta al tiempo’ (‘House open to time’), renders the Nahuatl phrase ‘In Calli Ixcahuicopa,’ proposed by the historian Miguel León-Portilla, the great scholar of Nahuatl thought.

Don’t confuse it with UNAM, whose motto is ‘Por mi raza hablará el espíritu,’ written by José Vasconcelos.
