Sistema educativo de México
In Mexico, primary school (primaria) covers six grades, generally for children from about six to twelve years of age. It follows preschool and is part of the free, compulsory basic education guaranteed by Article 3 of the Constitution.
After primaria, students move on to secundaria (lower secondary school), which lasts three years. Take care not to confuse the six years of primaria with the three years of secundaria.
