How many indigenous languages exist in Mexico?

Mexico is one of the most linguistically diverse countries in the world. The National Institute of Indigenous Languages (INALI) recognizes 68 Indigenous languages, grouped into 11 language families with more than 360 variants; Náhuatl and Maya have the most speakers, and more than 7 million Mexicans speak an Indigenous language.

Spanish is the most widely spoken language, but by law both Spanish and the Indigenous languages are recognized as national languages.
