UNESCO’s World Heritage List recognizes places of outstanding value to humanity, and Mexico has more of them than any other country in the Americas. Its 36 sites range from historic city centers and colonial towns to archaeological zones and natural reserves, with the Wixárika Route to Wirikuta (2025) as the most recent inscription.

The total breaks down into 28 cultural, 6 natural, and 2 mixed sites. Keep in mind that the number can grow with new inscriptions, so it is worth double-checking before the exam.
