México

The country’s official name, United Mexican States (Estados Unidos Mexicanos), has been used since the federal Constitution of 1824 and reflects that Mexico is a federation, today made up of 32 federal entities.

In everyday life almost everyone simply says “México,” but the full name appears in the Constitution, on official documents, and on currency. Don’t confuse it with the neighboring “United States of America.”
