Constitución de Apatzingán

The Constitution of Apatzingán, formally the Constitutional Decree for the Liberty of Mexican America, was promulgated on October 22, 1814, by the insurgent Congress promoted by José María Morelos. Inspired in part by his document Sentimientos de la Nación, it declared independence and popular sovereignty, though the ongoing war kept it from ever fully taking effect.

Don’t confuse it with Mexico’s later constitutions: 1824 (the first federal constitution), 1857, and 1917, the one in force today.
