El Chapulín Colorado

El Chapulín Colorado is a bumbling but noble parody superhero created and played by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, ‘Chespirito’. His catchphrases — ‘No contaban con mi astucia’ (‘They didn’t count on my cleverness’) and ‘Síganme los buenos’ (‘Follow me, the good guys’) — are known throughout Latin America.

Don’t confuse him with El Chavo del Ocho: both characters were created and played by Chespirito, but El Chavo is the orphan boy of the vecindad, while El Chapulín is the red grasshopper superhero.
